Alice Springs Golf Course looking Magnificent

Golf Coordinator Craig Hill is very excited to be Coordinating his first Alice Springs Masters Games Golf competition in 2016.

“The course looks magnificent,” Hill said.

“Considering our issues out here in Alice Springs with the heat and water, members have said the course is the best it’s been since the ‘glory days’ of the 80s.

“You have to see it to believe the dramatic changes that have taken place over the last few months.  One look at the course and it’s obvious that the course is in wonderful condition.”

The setting of the golf course, a sea of green nestled amongst rocky outcrops of the desert landscape with a looming backdrop of the mighty MacDonnell Ranges is awe-inspiring.  It’s a marvel that such a course could survive in the harsh conditions of desert summers and winters.

A new driving range will be operational by the end of May, with the top of the range artificial turf that is the closest you will get to the real thing.

Two practice putting greens give the opportunity to practice on surface with lots of slope and movement.  The larger of the two is located right outside the clubhouse while the other is just before the tee off for the first hole.  This will allow Masters participants to putt while waiting to tee off.

The improvements to the Alice Springs Golf Course will have the course in amazing condition for the Alice Springs Masters Games.  Be sure to register now to avoid disappointment!
