Functional Fitness will test athletes to their limits across a variety of functional movements and skills performed at high intensity.
The workouts performed will include major lifts such as deadlifts, cleans, squats, presses and clean and jerks, mixed with body weight movements such as pull ups, rope climbs, push ups, body presses, sit ups with a conditioning element like running, rowing, bike, skipping and burpees etc.
There will be two divisions on offer to cater for all fitness levels for the Alice Springs Masters Games; Rx and Scaled .
Rx caters for experienced competitors who have competency in most CrossFit style movements and can perform workouts at the prescribed weights and movements.
Scaled is for those who are new to the sport, its perfect for first time competitors and suitable for those who have mastered the basic CrossFit style movements and would prefer to perform workouts with a scaled weight and movement pattern.
Individual Men’s and Women’s events will be held on the 17th and 18th October.
Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Pairs will be held on the 19th October.
Workouts will be available two weeks prior to competition.

- Thursday 18 9am: Men's Individual, Women's Individual
- Friday 19 9am: Men's Pairs, Women's Pairs, Mixed Pairs
