Sistas of Jo! A tribute to a beautiful lady
The ‘Sistas of Jo’ softball team has been formed to participate at the 2018 Alice Springs Masters Games. A tribute to Jo-anne Craig the beautiful sister of Sharon, mother of Lindsie and loving wife of Steven. Jo-anne passed away suddenly in January 2018.
Jo-anne, a keen softball player for many years, participated in the Alice Springs Masters Games and travelled throughout Australia playing the game she loved and enjoyed.
Talking with her sister Sharon and daughter Lindsie they said.
“Mum (Jo-anne) played softball sporadically due to working alongside our dad (Steven) managing Mistake Creek Cattle Station approximately 300kms from Kununurra. When mum was playing for the Pirates Softball Team in Darwin over recent years, it was nothing for her to drive over 2000 km (round trip) from the Station for the weekend to play Softball”.
The Sistas of Jo are made up of sisters, daughters, cousins and best friends who live on cattle stations and towns in the Northern Territory.
Words from the Sistas of Jo team members:
“The 2018 ASMG will be a very memorable occasion for us. It is a special tribute to celebrate a unique person, a loving Mum, a leader, a quiet achiever, a role model, a protector and a genuine true friend that is missed dearly. Jo-anne always had a smile and positive attitude. Her family was everything to her.
Jo-anne would have loved to participate at the 2018 Alice Springs Masters Games, the Sistas of Jo are doing it for her”.
