Volunteer Overview

The Alice Springs Masters Games is known as ‘the Friendly Games” because of it's fantastic atmosphere and camaraderie across all areas of this sporting event. The Alice Springs Masters Games began in October 1986 and is the second Masters Games event in the world to commence. The Games would not be possible without the assistance of the dedicated volunteers.  In 2016 we had over 700 people volunteer their time to assist.

Our volunteers are divided into three categories – the Sports Volunteers, Operations Volunteers and Sports Medicine.

  • Sports Volunteers assist in delivering and officiating of a high quality sporting competition in all sports.
  • Operations Volunteers deliver games service roles that ensure the smooth running of the event.
  • Sports Medicine are accredited sports medicine practitioners that work at sports venues or the Sports Medicine Clinic at Traeger Park.
